Garage and Rummage sales are live in town, food trucks will open at 11am, the BN park arts marketplace expo will open at noon, Doug Curtis will be doing caricatures at 1pm, and Lydia Rose will close us out on the concert stage starting at 6pm! Today's highlight: A Wadena favorite, Aaron Simmons! Aaron has rocked the Wadena stage before, and we love him! Aaron’s songs capture the joys of love, the pain of loss, and the power of community. With strong small-town values and a close connection to fans, he continues to make his mark in modern country music. He will perform on Saturday after the parade and before the fireworks, starting around 8:30pm in BN Park. See you on Saturday Night!

A high energy tribute experience like no other ... three full sets, three genres, one epic performance: 70’s Arena Rock (Rock City), 80’s Pop (Pop Starz), and 80’s Hair Bands (Hair Force)! If you love rock, nostalgia, and fun, Friday night’s street dance is the place to be!

Our crown jewel of the summer is just around the corner and Wadena is ready! June 11th-13th at BN Park, three days of music, tasty food, vendors, garage sales, the parade, a $10,000 raffle, and fireworks to cap it off as we celebrate June Jubilee and America's 250th Anniversary!
Things will kick off with Lydia Rose on Thursday, June 11th from 6-7:30pm - FREE
Time Machine will take the stage from 8pm-midnight on Friday, June 12th - tickets are $5
Aaron Simmons will close us out on Saturday the 13th from 8:30pm-midnight - tickets are $10

The city also has three shelters available on a first come first served basis - one can be seen below next to the Splash Pad, there is one in Sunnybrook Park South and one behind the Armory building.
Nicole Stracek at the Pioneer Journal is working with the City and Chamber on another naming contest for this year. Keep an eye out in the paper/online for more info!
The Hwy 10 Detour will extend to Verndale starting on Tuesday, May 26th. This work will include replacing the Whiskey Creek box culvert and completing other underground work. If mother nature cooperates, crews are hoping to have the road open in time for the Fourth of July weekend.
Hwy 10 will be closed from Co. Rd. 4 to Oink Joint Rd. Follow detour signs along Co. Rd. 4 and Co. Rd. 23. Watch for a temporary all-way stop at the 4/23 intersection. Plan for slight delays and pay attention to signage.
Wadena businesses are still open within the closed work zone. Local traffic reminders:
🛑Plan for changes as construction activities could occur without advance notice, so always follow road signs
🛣️Expect use of alternate accesses, reduced speeds, gravel or grooved road surfaces, narrow lanes and lane shifts
🏗️Watch for workers and equipment, slow down, navigate with care
🚶🏼➡️Pedestrians will encounter sidewalk closures; follow signs.
