Work on the Wadena construction project resumes in mid- to late April, and MnDOT is hosting an open house so you can hear directly from the project team about what's ahead.

Come learn about this year's scope of work, the schedule, and travel impacts — then ask any questions you have. There's no formal presentation; just stop in anytime between 4 and 6 p.m.

We are seeking Election Judges for 2026!

The City is seeking election judges for this year! The Primary Election is on August 11th and the General is on November 3rd. We are seeking community members who would like to be involved and help at the polls on election day.

-Must be a US Citizen
-Must be 18 years old
-Must have resided in MN for at least 20 days
-Must read, write, and speak english
-Training is paid and provided by Wadena County (About 3 hours)
-Head Judges are paid $13.98/hr
-Judges are paid $14.57/hr

The Wadena Area Community Band invites everyone to “Live & Lively!” on Sunday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the WDC Middle/High School Commons in Wadena. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, family-friendly music with free admission; a freewill offering will be taken to support the band’s scholarship fund, made possible in part by a grant from the Five Wings Arts Council!

The City of Wadena and Wadena-Deer Creek Public Schools are once again partnering to honor this year’s 60 graduating seniors with personalized lawn banners displayed in BN Park!

✅ Banners are 1' x 2' on a lawn stake and will be placed along the walkways in BN Park from the first week of May through graduation.
✅ Cost is $36.00 per banner.
✅ Sponsorship forms are available on the City of Wadena website, at City Hall, and through the school.

- Do not pay by wire transfer, peer‑to‑peer apps, or cryptocurrency.
- Do not click links or open attachments if you are unsure.
- Always verify payment requests by contacting City Hall directly using information on the City of Wadena website, not the contact details in the email.

If you receive a suspicious message, do not respond or send money. Contact the City of Wadena Planning & Zoning office and local law enforcement to report it.

High Wind Warning for Wadena County

A high wind warning is in effect for Wadena County starting tonight going through tomorrow morning. Strong winds have the chance to cause tree damage and potential outages. Our crews are monitoring the storm, and they will be ready to respond should there be any outages.
