🚧Detour on Hwy 10 starts Monday, May 4th 🚧
Starting Monday May 4th, Hwy 10 will be closed to through traffic. Motorists will need to use the Co Rd 4 (Sunnybrook Rd) and Harry Rich Dr detour. Access to businesses for local traffic only will remain available, but expect changes, gravel surfaces, and flaggers.
Many businesses along this stretch can still be reached via County Road 4 and Harry Rich Drive. We encourage you to call businesses directly in advance for the most current information on how to access their locations. The city will update and share business access maps whenever significant access changes occur.
For questions, concerns, and contacts please visit the project homepage on the MnDOT website: https://www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/projects/wadena/

Celebrated annually in April, Arbor Day is dedicated to planting, nurturing, and appreciating trees. It serves as a reminder to plant trees for a greener future, providing benefits such as cleaner air, shade, and supporting local ecosystems!

We have secured 52/60 sponsorships for Senior Banners! We are almost to the finish line! We are seeking 8 more for the Class of 2026! Banners are slated to go up on Friday, but you can still sponsor a senior until all sponsorships are covered.
Reach out to City Hall for more info!

It is a fantastic program that the city is happy to take part in each year! Thank you to the students and organizers for helping keep our city looking sharp!

The City of Wadena is home to about 365 acres of park land! There is plenty of beautiful park land for residents to get out and active!
Everyone knows about Sunnybrook, but Wadena is also home to Black's Grove Park, Tapley Park, John Ehlen Playground, Fink's Park & Memorial Garden, and more!
We are seeking 26 more sponsorships - less than half way to go! Sponsor forms can be found on the Senior Banner page on the city website: https://www.wadena.org/page/senior-banners-2026

Take a look down Hole 1 for an example of the beauty the course has to offer! Make a tee time this weekend and check it out for yourself!

Right now, 34 of the 60 senior banners have been sponsored—that’s about 56% funded. We still need 26 more sponsorships to make sure everyone is covered! Banners are slated to go up the first week of May.
Sponsorship cost: $36.00 per banner.
How to sponsor: Drop off payment at City Hall (222 2nd St SE) or use our drop box.
Forms and details: https://www.wadena.org/page/senior-banners-2026

🚧Heads up, Wadena drivers – highway construction is about to ramp up in early May.🚧
Starting on or around May 4th, Highway 10 will be closed between Wadena County Road 4 and Harry Rich Drive for about five weeks while crews excavate and replace poor soils and install the Union Creek culvert. During this time, traffic will need to use the signed detour route on County Road 4 and Harry Rich Drive. Please plan ahead, allow a little extra travel time, and follow posted signs and flaggers as you move through the work zone. Business access maps will be available in the coming week.
