Sunnybrook Park & Shelters

Five large shelters: Lions I, Lions II, Rotary, Burch, and Knights of Columbus. These can be reserved for weddings, reunions, organizations, churches, schools or any activity looking to reserve a shelter. Picnic areas, small shelters, tables and grills are scattered throughout the park for your convenience. Bike sculpture, memorial tree lanes and fishing are all activities to see and do. Sunfish and crappies are stocked in Whiskey Creek flowing through Sunnybrook Park. Public fishing is allowed and encouraged between the hours of 8 am and 10 pm.

Check out our 3.5 mile black top bike trail which takes you to the Whitetail Run Golf Course.

Burlington Northern Park 

Located in the heart of Wadena's business district (100 Aldrich Ave. SW), Burlington Northern Park surrounds The Depot, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is perhaps the most valued spot in the community and is the stage for many summer activities that bring the community together.

Rotary's Corn & Chicken Feed and the Lion's Bar-B-Que help to celebrate and reinforce our friendly, close knit community right in the heart of Minnesota. The park includes a bandshell, picnic area, flowers and fountain, and a community bulletin board.

Wading Pool / Splash Pad

Located south of Wadena Deer Creek High School, across Colfax Ave/Hwy 29.

Black's Grove

Amenities include: log picnic shelter (may be reserved), primitive restrooms, hiking, cross country skiing, horse trails and mountain biking. Located at 33825 620th Ave - 1 3/4 miles west on Hwy. 29, turn right on 620th Ave and go approximately 3/4 mile.

Amenities include: swing sets, playground equipment, open ball field, basketball court, restrooms, enclosed shelter (may be reserved). Located at 716 3rd St. SE.

Amenities include: open skating, warming house, restrooms, playgrounds, basketball courts, open play area, fenced youth ball field, two lighted tennis and basketball courts, shelters, wading pool, splash pad. Located at 310 7th St SW.
