The City of Wadena Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance and repair of the City’s streets, sidewalks, storm and sanitary sewer system. Street maintenance is one of the biggest challenges of the department. The crew is dedicated to fast and effective snow plowing and removal as well as managing a program of seal coating, patching and crack sealing of City streets. During spring and summer months the department is responsible for park maintenance, sidewalk inspections, and boulevard tree trimming.
Along with extensive grass mowing and snow removal, our team repairs and maintains several picnic shelters, the Sunnybrook Campground, and a 9-hole disc-golf course. Wadena also boasts a family friendly zoo and our Public Works department feed and care for the animals that include buffalo, white tail deer, pheasant, peacocks and more.
