Highway 10 work begins March 30
Crews spring into action March 30 on Highway 10 in Wadena
Spring has arrived – Construction on Hwy 10 in Wadena kicks off Monday, March 30. Expect to see crews bring in equipment and prepare the work areas over the next couple weeks.
Here’s what to expect when navigating through the work zone:
Hwy 10 Open: Both lanes of Highway 10 traffic will shift onto the westbound side of the road as crews reconstruct the eastbound side.
Hwy 71 Detour: Highway 71 to close at Highway 10 and detour using Highway 29/Colfax Avenue and Second Street SW for southbound traffic and Juniper Avenue and Second Street NW for northbound traffic.
Pedestrians: May encounter sidewalk closures with pedestrian detours, follow signs.
The schedule is based on good weather conditions.
Week of March 23: Mobilize equipment and prepare the work areas along roads.
Impacts: Both directions of Hwy 10 will be shifted onto either side of the road to reconstruct the new road. Expect narrow lanes (11 ft.), access detours and flaggers.
March 30–June: Reconstruct eastbound, traffic on westbound
July–August: Reconstruct westbound, traffic on eastbound
Hwy 71 access closed to Hwy 10 to reconstruct the intersection and RR crossing. Follow detour signs.
Hwy 71 south of Hwy 10: Use Hwy 29 and Second St SW
Hwy 71 north of Hwy 10: Use Juniper Ave and Second St NW
